Cooking Lake Airport
Cooking Lake Airport is the only facility in Alberta with both a floatplane base and a conventional runway. It’s also the only airport in Canada with a condominium ownership structure.
Located 20 km east of Edmonton in Strathcona County, Cooking Lake Airport is primarily a recreational flying facility for floatplanes and small aircraft.

Cooking Lake is Canada’s only bare-land condominium airport. When Edmonton Airports purchased the airport from Alberta Transportation in 1995, the Cooking Lake Condominium Association was created to manage the condo development. All available lots were sold and most have been developed. Edmonton Airports is looking into the feasibility of making additional lots available for development.
