EIA Master Plan

Master Plan charts EIA’s future

EIA has submitted an updated master plan to Transport Canada. The master plan guides the future development of the Alberta Capital Region’s international airport. The plan covers everything from facilities development to utility services over the next 25 years at EIA.

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback, helping ensure the master plan reflects the needs and ambitions of the Capital Region. We participated in over 30 stakeholder group meetings, including regional municipalities and our business partners, and hosted more than 100 regional residents at our Master Plan Open House. We also received comments on the draft plan via e-mail and social media.

The full draft master plan and executive summary are available below:

The master plan is a long-term, guiding document. It`s also adaptable. We have to carefully consider each development on its own merits and weigh the prevailing economic, social, environmental and regulatory conditions of the time.

When the document is accepted by Transport Canada, we will make any final adjustments and post it as a tool for our community to view our plans, consider the airport's growth and provide ongoing feedback.
