EIA Team Mover of the Month - June 2008

David TrowsdaleDavid Trowsdale, Garda Airport Security
In the summer of 2008, Airside Enforcement Officer David Trowsdale received a military commendation from the Commander 1 Area Support Group for his dedication and commitment to the military airlifts that operate out of EIA.

The commendation from Colonel Patch read as follows: "You were invariably professional, versatile and personable, all the while safeguarding the security of Edmonton International Airport. Notwithstanding frigid cold, flexible plans, occasional delays and a few out-of-the-ordinary requests, you embodied our motto ‘We Enable Success.'"

David's many years of commitment, his attention to service, and this recent honour make him our June 2008 EIA Team Mover of the Month.

EIA Team Mover of the Month - May, 2008

Ken CooperKen Cooper, Edmonton Airports
As EIA's Mechanical Co-ordinator, Ken Cooper responds to many different calls and situations. One situation that happens more often than you would think is a passenger dropping their photo ID down a floor vent.

Often simply removing the vent cover is enough, but on one recent occasion the ID slid deep down the vent and even around a corner. Ken accessed the vent through the ceiling of the level below, radioed for assistance and tools from his team, Mike Deputat and Ward McNary, and the three of them cut through the ductwork and retrieved the ID.

The passenger was on the plane within 20 minutes thanks to the "we'll move you" service commitment demonstrated by Ken, our EIA Team Mover of the Month for May 2008.
